This is a long stretch to be asking on this subreddit but I might as well try. I am going to be taking him to the shelter today if they are able to take him in but I could give you the information if you want to adopt him. Here are the pictures of Jasper - https://imgur.com/a/nJTdADv
Here's what I posted on Facebook to reach more people:
Hello everyone!
We just had a situation where my uncle who cared for Jasper, had dumped him outside of his house because he was furious at him and did not want to care for him anymore. Luckily, I live nearby so I was able to retrieve Jasper before he got run over or injured someone accidentally. I am based in Carson, CA but I am able to deliver him to you with all of his things.
Jasper (Male, Neutered), 75% pitbull/25% rottweiler, 1-year-old, up-to-date on all vaccinations
He is a very hyper dog and I would say he got very minimal training as a puppy. He runs super fast so never have him off leash unless at a gated dog park. He is a very sweet dog but he is very strong. He loves playing with other dogs and is SUPER playful. He also loves playing with people but he doesn't realize his own strength, so I would say be cautious around smaller kids. I also know he does not get aggressive at all, so if he does have something in his mouth he's not supposed to have, you can just pry his mouth open to retrieve it.
In the last picture, he is next to my dog (also a pit) but they don't really get along well when I leave them alone because my dog is more casual and he likes people more than other dogs. As for Jasper, he loves playing with other dogs, especially other bigger dogs since he loves to tussle (seen this when I took Jasper to the dog park, he had so much fun).
I would say that if you want to adopt him, it is highly recommended that you have a large backyard so he has plenty of space to be hyper as well as have the freedom to run around and whatnot because his previous home kept him more isolated (still furious about this, they also kept him leashed up in the house since they didn't want him running around the house messing up things).
I would also say that he needs lots of training still, especially basic training and command training, and does need to work on his potty training a little bit (but for the most part he knows to go to the bathroom outside).
Again, he is very HIGH maintenance because he is hyper, has minimal training, does not know his own strength, and is very strong.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.
PSA: I will be looking around my local shelters (especially a no-kill shelter) to see if they can take him in at the soonest available time. I will update this post with more information if a shelter takes him in.
