I’m hoping to apply to CSULB’s Studio Art BA program and then the BFA for 3D media, but I didn’t see anything online about students’ experiences with specifically the metals and jewelry specialization. If anyone has any knowledge of these questions, please let me know!
Does anyone know what that specialization program is like? Around how many students plan to apply to it in their BA track vs. how many are actually accepted each semester?
Most common project focuses (large like for building structure/transportation/etc? or smaller like jewelry/fashion/furniture appliances), what students get out of it, what they’re expected to make, and if their assignments ever are applicable to real clients?
How much emphasis is there on digital 3D modeling skills, and what programs are used?
How strong are the employment and networking opportunities while in or after school, like internships via career events or fairs or any affiliated connections/job openings where professors and teachers can put in a good word?
Thanks so much ahead of time! If you don’t necessarily have answers but you know someone who might, let me know where to reach out, or please let them know to answer here! I really would like the word of actual students who are going through or have already went through the program to hear their experience.
