Okay y'all. I have a possible CSF leak. The last few weeks have been so frustrating. Went to a PCP, she said, "no way it's CSF, here's some Flonase" I advised I just couldn't take that answer and asked for a referral to an ENT. She obliged and I went. The ENT is so compassionate. Said he was not going to dismiss my concerns and said that even though I wasn't having a bunch of common symptoms, he still thought this could be a CSF leak. I had a CT scan Thursday. Friday, the doc office called and said the radiologist didn't see anything out of the norm but to still try to collect the fluid (which has not come out in over a week so I can't get a sample if none comes out). This morning (Sunday) I wake up to two missed calls from the doctor. I FINALLY get in touch with his nurse and she advises he looked over the CT and found that I have a small defect at my skull base and has referred me to another specialist. Here's my point (sorry it took so long to get here) - I'm flying to Colorado in three weeks for vacation. Is it crazy for me to want to tell the doctors I will reach out when I get back? Am I being selfish? I know that a leak can cause meningitis. I get it. But I've read so many articles where people have these leaks for months, even years, before they get treated. This vacation is a dream and I really don't want to miss it.
TLDR: I have a possible leak but also have an upcoming vacation. Should I still go on vacay or should I cancel?
