My pain doctor wants me to do this. She first brought it up a few a months ago and I said no, but now she’s bringing it up again. From my understanding, ablation can actually make CRPS worse?? I’ve had great success with nerve blocks, so she thinks ablation would be more likely to work for me (still said it’s like a 50/50 chance though).
I feel like it’s not worth the risk of making things worse, but I also know that nerve blocks aren’t necessarily meant to be a long term treatment. Other treatments like ketamine and calmare scrambler therapy aren’t covered by my insurance. DRG stimulator or SCS horror stories have sort of turned me off to the idea, but either way, I highly doubt my insurance would cover that either. Ugh.. I don’t know what to do.
