I know it's not quite as exciting as looking for silver, but after lurking on this subreddit for a while, I decided to join in. I got a $25 dollar box of pennies from the local bank, and spent about two and a half hours sorting. I didn't really have much interest in saving tons of copper pennies, so I just quickly looked for wheaties. I found lucky 13 of them! To be exact:
A 1942 plain, 44 plain, 45 plain, 50 plain, 51 plain, two 53 D's, 55 plain, 55 D, 56 D, and two 57 D's.
Again, I know it's not as exciting as finding silvers, but after seeing the horrible dry streaks people hit while looking though other denominations, I figured pennies would be a good place to start! I had two rolls with two wheats, and the last 9 didn't have any. I averaged a wheat every 3.8 rolls. Any other penny CHP'ers? Would be interested in knowing your averages. Can't wait for a new box, and being a part of this community!
