In another post here, I found reference to IPF -- in essence, imagining an ideal parent figure. Not sure how it works.
It does explain a couple of times in my life where I had remissions: Ages 16 to 19 where I had an explorer post advisor who became a father figure for me. And later a boss/friend who for four years was my mentor, encouraged me to dare greatly, and taught me how to stand up on my own two feet.
Anyway, I found an IPF meditation on youtube, watched some of that to get the feel for how it works.
Tried it last night as I was going to sleep.
And had the most intense emo flash I've ever had. This isn't saying much. My emo flashes are normally quite mild. So I was moving from 2 to 4 on a 10 point scale. Or 1 to 3.
15 minutes of shivering (although not cold), trembling -- like jsut before race jitters, sinking feeling in my gut, hypervigilance, mild fear.
Anyone else have this?
I've dropped a line to my T. asking her input.
