Difference between bipolar and CPTSD?

Post Body

I’m trying to deduce if I’m actually bipolar (was diagnosed @ 13 after some intense trauma that I had mentally blocked out for 22 years until recently). I have had periods in the past where I haven’t been on medication for BPD and it didn’t go well- however I’ve been on medication consistently over 11 years now. I have been treating my trauma with EMDR therapy weekly for the past 7 months and am seeing miraculous improvements in my life as a whole- phobias are disappearing, I’m not afraid of life anymore, anxiety has subsided so much that I have been able to go off meds for that (also over the summer they were changing my mood stabilizers so often and I was having awful side effects from them. Decided to go back on original medication). Now I’m feeling out of balance, like I’m too up. I’ve discussed this with my doctor but am wondering if anyone else has gone through something similar and has been able to go off or lessen medication? How did it go? Bipolar runs in my family so it’s very possible I have both…
