Indirect backfiring refers to when you try to do the hard thing, the healing thing, and it blows up in your face. Today's example is quite literal! Did opposite action when the urge to isolate and deprive myself of good things struck by having some pizza. Wound up cracking a tooth
Realistically, no. It's not a sign to stop trying like my intrusive thoughts say. It doesn't mean I'm cursed like the paranoid ones are pushing. But damn, does it make me feel incompetent. At least I can find comfort in knowing I did something intended to be kind for myself
