Do you have people tell you to get out of the victim mindset?

Post Body

Someone who I have trusted to open up to about everything is tired of me I guess. They finally broke and told me it's time to grow up and get out of the victim mindset. They know I have diagnosed PTSD. They also have a nurse and med school background. My brother beat me growing up. I would try to get away and he would kick my door down to get to me. I am now living back in my childhood home and he's been coming over to see my dad. And he has been coming over when my dad isn't here and doing some of the same things he used to. Being loud and slamming things around and holding me hostage with argumentative conversations. When I ask him to leave he won't. And I know if I do he will vandalize my things. (When I was younger if I would leave he would do this) so I stay and he berates me until I explode. Anyways. This is happening again. I don't feel safe. It's is so triggering when he comes over here. And this support person of mine told me I'm not a kid anymore. And it's time to grow up and stop being a victim. If I could I would? My body biologically reacts to him. I can't control it. I feel so invalidated. I'm so tired of advocatingfor myself. I'm ranting and I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense if I need to make anything more clear let me know I will.

EDIT: A word.
