Looking for trauma-informed study buddies
Post Body

Hey out there, so I'm pretty discouraged that this will amount to anything. But my therapist-type person suggested it.

I'm in grad school in name only at the moment, I'm basically going to fail out if I keep going in the manner I currently am. My mental health is the worst it's been in years in terms of SI.

What I need is support both to focus on school and emotional support. My counselor told me about this thing she used to do in peer counseling where people would get together and focus on stuff (cognitive support), and then take periodic breaks to do check ins (emotional support).

I'm writing to see if anyone here is interested in doing such a thing - study/focus sessions on some video platform, with periodic breaks for check ins. To be clear, during check ins I might emote significantly and would welcome others doing so too. I would not want any advice or reassurance, just space holding. I would orient toward this in an "emotional bungee jumping" manner: go deep fast and then come back up and (try to) focus some more.

If anything me is interested in this or has questions please contact me through inbox or comment. I do not like chat. I might cross-post this a few places. Please also share ideas for what platform to host this on. I could do discord.
