Does anyone realized how bad they were or are hurting you snap at family who loves you?

I still don't realize the damage or extent of the damage my what has happened to me. Why I did what I did as a kid and why did I start at a certain age if it did and why don't I remember anything. The big kicker for me is I can't remember anything abuse wise and it frustrates me so much and I get snappy because the unknown and stuff.
