Any unconventional rituals? Iāve had severe insomnia for the past two years. I started Lexapro a month ago and itās helped a lot. I thought it cured my insomnia, because the second week I was on it I slept like a baby.
But of course it didnāt last. I get flashbacks all throughout the dayā¦.. But the medication has made them less crippling, but at night itās still pretty agonizing.
Iām just constantly in a state of overstimulation. The medication has dulled it a lot, but itās still pretty bad at night.
I tried all the usual tacticsā¦.. Hot shower, tea, edibles, benzos, meditating, watching something relaxing. I just got a TV. I havenāt hooked it up yet though. So I usually watch something on my phone. But I think thatās adding to the overstimulation.
Sometimes even just listening to someone talk makes me restless. Iām very fidgety at night.
Reading, podcastsā¦.. Iāve tried all the basics. I do get a sleepy effect from magnesium, but itās not strong enough.
I eat light before bed too, because I learned the hard way that a big meal before bed spikes my anxiety.
Like wtf is there left to do?! Itās like a form of psychological torture. That week that I slept like a baby was unreal. Iām like is this how ānormiesā feel when they wake up? š© I want to get back to that! š§š½āāļøš«
