I won’t say merry Christmas here, since a lot of us (me included) don’t particularly feel the cheer around this holiday.
But I was reading through some of the posts here and I was overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude. I want to share that with y’all.
First I journaled about being grateful to myself. I was grateful to my anxiety, the alarm bell that tries to notify me to be careful. I was grateful to my adrenaline for prepping me for dangerous situations. Etc.
Then I sent my closest friends, the only ones in my life who haven’t betrayed me, messages of appreciation.
And now I’m here, where I started. I’m so grateful to this community. I only received my CPTSD diagnosis a month or so ago, and yet this community has taught me so much and shown me that my struggles are not alone. I’ve taken on new perspectives, gentler, kinder, more grateful perspectives from comments I’ve read here. That is powerful, and I’m so grateful for y’all. We are some of the kindest and most supportive individuals. Thanks for being here.
