When I talk about anything to my friends and colleagues that's related to ~any kind of trauma~ I've noticed I have a strange physical reaction where I literally twitch, make strange repetitive movements, and my vision like 'zeros in' where it feels like the edges go black. It's hard for me to even concentrate on what's being said when I'm like this. My shoulders bunch up, I get tense, feel cold, and my hands shake. It doesn't even have to be about my trauma or the trauma of someone I know, we were talking about Cardinal Pell (may he rest in piss) and this happened.
This is what people mean when they say they're "triggered" right? Is there a way to stop I it? It feels awful and happens at the most random times
