Guardianship hearing, what to expect?
Post Body

Hi everyone. Iโ€™ve posted here before asking questions about our situation with my nephew whose mother has been absent for the majority of his life, is a frequent drug user, has no stable job or home and rarely comes to visit her son. My nephew has been living with us for over a year now and many recommended we go see a family lawyer, which we did. We have a guardianship hearing this Thursday and the bio mom has been served the paperwork. She claims she is coming to pick my nephew up before the hearing. This is terrifying for us and I donโ€™t know that there is anything we can do to stop her. But my main question is, what can we expect at the hearing? Have any of you gone through something like this? Any input is appreciated as I am very worried about my nephew. Thanks.
