Hey everyone,
I use to contribute and read this sub pretty frequently. Especially when I was first starting with my CPAP. Then, like with most subs, once I felt like I really hit my stride... I stopped checking in. I stopped being apart of this community. That was wrong.
I want to circle back and let you know what I've 'figured out' about my CPAP and my basic sleeping routine. Why? Because most mornings I feel FANTASTIC. And I wish I had 'figured out' my sleep in my early 20s (opposed to now, my mid 30s). Anyway, hope this helps...
- I use my CPAP every night and on vacation. I've taken breaks but I've found no benefit in doing so.
- I also sleep with a pillow under my knees. It helps keep back pain away and it's a freakin' miracle worker for that.
- This is super important... I wake up and go to bed at the same times EVERY DAY. I have my 5:30am alarm set Monday to Monday. Sleeping in feels awful. Waking up before everyone else feels amazing.
- I use to drink quite a bit. Like have at least a glass of wine every night before bed (maybe two, maybe three). I don't do that anymore. During the week I'm dry as a dog's elbow. My sleep has GREATLY improved.
- I wear earplugs most nights. Not super important but a small optimization.
- I either drink sleepy time tea OR take half a THC/CBD gummy. The latter is like a sleeping pill for me. Within one hour of taking it, I'm ready for dreamland.
Okay, that's basically it. If you have larger, looming problems affecting your sleep (like stress, stress is a killer!) then you'll have to work on those first. But, if you're looking for some straight up improvements, give these a whirl.
Cheers,
