Test Taking Tip #1 - Take the right test
Post Body

Just wanted to share my story with you guys real quick, in hopes that maybe someone will learn from my idiotic mistake.

I'm currently studying for FAR, without having taken any exams yet. I took about 2 months to get through all the material and cycle through multiple choice, in preparation for the exam. I applied for both FAR and Audit at the same time to save a little money. I finally got my NTS back, and promptly scheduled to take my FAR on November 30th at 8 am. On the morning of my exam, I entered into the Prometrics building and signed in. The very kind lady at the desk takes my ID, and looks up my information and says, "Good morning Mr. ________ , it looks like you're taking CPA AUD today." At which point, I calmly said, "No, I'm taking FAR today." She took a moment to double check and proceeds to tell me, "Nope, I have AUD on all my documentation." Immediately I knew I probably was the one in the wrong here and accidentally scheduled the wrong exam. I knew calling to fight the error was not worth the time. So instead of lose out on my application fee and have to schedule again, I decided, "Why the heck not?" and took Audit with literally never having even initiated the shipping on my Audit booklet. Needless to say, there was a whole lot of guessing occurring in room 209 on the morning of the 30th. I likely failed miserably, but I suppose there's some slim chance I guessed my way to victory.

I might be alone in having made this mistake, but just in case, please make sure you double check which exam you are scheduling before you take it. Its not a fun mistake to make.
