Recently decided to study for CPA. When do I apply for examination?

Hi everyone,
I am in WA state. So I was filling out information about my education and credit hours on NASBA. Then it asked me to submit payment of $90 for candidate evaluation.
I think Iām supposed to start with study materials before proceeding with this when Iām ready to take an exam soon?
My background: MA degree in accounting and about 3.5 years of auditing plus some accounting.
