The covid finally got me this week. Quietly devastated about it because I'd ducked it for nearly three years.
Was out for a work thing last Friday and a person who was there let us all know on Monday that she had tested positive, so I tested right away. Did feel like something wasn't right in me but wasn't sure if it was another ongoing ailment I've been dealing with this year or what. Test came back negative, went about my business as normal.
Woke up Tuesday with the most insane headache and a cough. Tested again. Came back negative. Appetite gone completely, drained, etc, assumed it was a cold based on the fact that my test was negative. I could still taste and I think I still had my sense of smell too.
Wednesday night, my lower back just gets so sore all of a sudden. Nothing I've had before but I struggle to walk and I can't stand upright at all, even after taking some ibuprofen. Nose has started to run, assuming that it's my body fighting the cold and flushing it from me.
Yesterday, still in the mindset that I have a cold, lower back still hurts but not to the extent it was the night before. Cough and throat sore, nose running more than normal. Hadn't tested since Tuesday.
Today, woke up and my nose wasn't running at all. Didn't need to blow it once when I woke. Thought it was a bit strange based on previous colds I've had where that doesn't clear up so quickly. No headache but still with the cough. Still, assuming I have the cold, I'm not going to attend a work's Christmas meal that was to take place tonight and spread it around. Decide to take a test just to put their mind at ease that it's just a cold I have. That test comes back positive. Devastated by it, didn't expect it especially cos I felt better than I did on Tuesday when I tested negative.
Still got a pain in my lower back. I didn't see that as one of the symptoms when it was in the news 24/7 but turns out it is, which explains a lot. Did anyone else get this pain? It's really getting me down. How long did it take for it to clear for you if you had the pain there? I can stand up straight and bend and move but you can tell there's a limit to my mobility due to it.
ETA: vaccinated - initial two doses of Pfizer, plus 1 x booster (Pfizer)
