Possibility of false positive PCR test?

Post Body

Hey Reddit, so I’m order to move back in to school, my brother (21 M) had to take a PCR. It was through a drive in service and he tested positive. He has absolutely no symptoms, neither does anyone in our family. He also is a homebody and probably hasn’t been out of the house in like two weeks. Two weeks ago, he took antibody test and tested negative. In the last two hours he took an at home test and tested negative. He’s in the process of getting re tested because no one can believe he actually has covid. If he did, it would imply either myself, or my parents gave it to him, but we feel no symptoms either. It’s important to know if false positives are a possibility because we all work with the public (I’m in good service) we’re just waiting on getting the second try of results back. I get out of work late so I can’t be tested until tomorrow.
