I am aware that parts are worded awkwardly, but I think I got my point across... I think the rent-seeking class deserves to share the burden of Covid-19, they've been far too abusive for too long, and are one of the major reasons many of us don't have the savings to weather this emergency. I'm in southern California, for context.
Landlord's name,
I am sure you have considered the pressing issue of seeking rent from your tenants who have been furloughed from work due to the crisis. I am contacting you to ascertain whether you have considered providing relief. I myself am not working currently, as I am part of the service industry which has been completely shutdown for an indeterminate period.Â
My question is whether you would be willing to offer a discounted rent rate for the duration of the crisis. I am not aware of if you pay a mortgage on this property, or whether you own it outright. If you do pay a mortgage on this property, I would hope you would at least attempt to defer payments via your bank, and assist us with a reduction of rent for the short-term.
I hope that you value the stability I have offered as a long-term tenant, as well as the care I have taken of the unit. If you are unable to help me in this way, I am unsure if I wlll be able to continue to reside here for very long. Please let me know if you are open to a reduced payment for April 1, 2020.
Good luck and good health, My name
