Anyone feel they are really hit or miss?

Some days I'm absolutely shredding average 8-12 kills per game the whole day. Other days I'm barely getting 2 kills and dying 3 times for the whole day.
Is this due to SBMM? Like days I shred, I get put into harder lobbies the next day?
