I'm looking for a willing victim, for a scenario I've been trying to play out for some time, and this year's troubles see yo be a great context. The scene is reasonably simple, but the below is my idea of your motivation:

You need a job, any job, now.

Maybe Covid has left you unemployed, or you're young and looking for your first taste of freedom, but either way, like so many others, and the job market has been flooded; every job has hundreds of applicants, and it's almost impossible to stand out, but you keep applying, for anything you feel you could do. You do get interviews, usually starting online, and some second interviews too, with some at corporate offices, and others, asking to visit you at home, to see your ability to work remotely.

After weeks of seeing the same people waiting to interview, and half a dozen strangers visiting your home, you're getting desperate, so when a plain looking woman you don't recognise sits next to you, in the now empty waiting room, you strike up a conversation. Unsurprisingly, she here for the same position as you, but it's the first job she's applied for, and she's talking like it's already hers, you have to admire her confidence, but she also freely admitted she has no experience, and lied on her CV; she's called in next, ahead of you, and before she get up, you ask her how she can be so confident, and she smiles "because I'll do anything to get it"

You check with the desk, and they advise you should be next, so you wait, the woman's words playing on your mind, she couldn't mean anything, surely? 45 minutes later, the door to the conference room opens, and 3 men in suits walk out, laughing and joking, one stops at the desk, and then they're gone. The woman at the desk calls you over, apologises, and tells you the role has been filled, fighting a snigger, as the plain looking woman staggers from the room, her blouse ripped, hair and makeup ruined, she's pulling her skirt down, and buttoning her jacket.

You just stare, until you're snapped back to reality by the vibration of your phone. "Yes, if course I can do an interview" you smile, looking at the woman "I'll do anything to get the job"
