Here's the scenario I'm imagining. You have been stuck in a dead end job and looking for a new one for awhile now . You come across a job listing that sounds almost too good to be true. Great salary, great benefits, and a real chance to establish yourself in the field. You get the feeling that this job will be a "make-your-career" type of opportunity. It's in a different city, but you've been thinking about leaving New York anyway and this might be the perfect time to reestablish yourself in a new city. The only problem is that you're not sure that you can get away from your current job to interview for this dream position. Luckily, it just so happens that my colleague and I, who would be your direct superiors, are going to be in town next week for a conference and we're planning on conducting interviews while we're here. I have reviewed your resume and I am very interested in interviewing you for the position; I think you might be perfectly qualified for the job. I'd love to set up an interview for when I'm in town next week and see if you'd be a good match for our company. We'll be conducting interviews in the hotel where we're staying. Please email me back and let me know if you'll be able to come in for an interview with me and Mrs. Johnson, my colleague.
