Our shop is about to get a new CNC mill that includes a laser (C02) and I'm working on getting all the safety equipment.
Does anyone know if laser safety goggles can double as impact goggles? Like, can the same pair of goggles be used to protect my eyes from the beam while laser cutting, and also potentially protect my eyes if a bit breaks or a chip goes flying during milling? Or would I just need to get those specific goggles and switch PPE when I switch tasks?
I'm looking at these; they're rated for my wavelength and "polycarbonate" makes me assume they're good for impacts too, but I don't see anything that specifically calls that out.
If there's another thread about this that I missed, please let me know.
Thanks in advance!
