Troels held an event outside the Art Gallery of Burlington today.
The crowd cheered as Troels went up on the small podium in front of the Art Gallery with the Ontario flag and the national flag flanking him on either side.
"Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. I'm glad so many have showed up here today."
"I love museums, and so do many of my fellow Canadians. Museums enrich our culture, our understanding of our surroundings and our communities. This is true for almost any type of museum, whether it shows modern art, classic art, historical monuments and memorabilia or anything else. Many museums help us understand and preserve the past, so that we may learn from it. One of my favourite quotes is from the Spanish philosopher Jorge Santayana, and it reads: 'Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.' I believe this is very true, and so does my party."
"To help all Canadians learn about their common heritage and learn about the history of both our own country and the world, through art or historical artefacts, my party and I promise to support museums all over the country, such as the one right here."
Troels gestures towards the museum behind him.
"That's why we are suggesting the establishment of an endowment incentive programme. This programme will help museums of all sorts, so that they may remain open to the public to everyone's benefit."
"I hope you will support these measures by voting Conservative on the coming election day. Thank you!"
The crowd applauds Troels as he leaves the podium.
Troels spend a few hours talking to constituents and looking at the museum's collection.
