Liberal Candidate /u/IGotzDaMastaPlan visited the Calgary neighborhood of Signal Hill, where he gave a short speech to Liberal supporters in the riding. He spoke to the crowd about the Liberal Party plan for Canada’s economy.

“Hello again Calgary! I’m very glad to be here in Signal hill, and I must say, all the liberal gear I see in the crowd is getting me very excited. I personally I think I look quite sharp in this Liberal Party of Canada hoodie.”

“I’ve come here today to talk about Canada’s economy. I think it’s self evident that the Liberals have the strongest track record on economics. We’ve lowered taxes, on both businesses and on people; and we’ve balanced the budget and started paying off Canada’s debt. As many of my fellow candidates have pointed out, we have the best record when it comes to free trade, and the best record when it comes to small businesses.

But I’m not going to talk about that right now. If you’re interested, you can just check our record or our platform, and see how much we’ve done and plan to do on those fronts. But today, I’m going to talk about our other economic policy.

First off, we plan to target tax evasion. Each year billions of dollars of revenue is lost due to tax evaders. This results in most Canadians paying a higher tax rate. Through targeted and specific action on the part of the Canada Revenue Agency we will solve this problem, and make our tax system more fair for most Canadians. The Liberals also plan to raise the basic personal amount by 1,500 dollars. This will make it easier on the lowest earners in Canada, and help keep more money in their pockets!

And finally, the Liberals pledge to allow the GST/HST tax credits to be received monthly rather than quarterly. This will allow people to receive them 12 times a year, and once again, make life easier for the lowest earners in Canada.

Ultimately, in addition to these policies, and our fine policies on free trade and small businesses, the Liberals have many other great ideas for Canada’s economy. These include removing anti-competitive measures in our energy industry, get rid of the boutique tax credit, and continuing to grow our rainy day fund. Because of this, it is quite clear the Liberals are the best choice for Canada’s economy, and the best choice for Calgary! Thank you and goodnight!”
