Federal election candidate for the riding of Brampton-Burlington, Troels, was seen throughout the northern parts of the riding today, knocking on doors and getting to know the constituents of the area. The local press asked a few questions to the hopeful candidate.
"It's important for me to know the people who I aspire to represent, and it's also important that they know me. It improves our transparency if we meet the voters and they can hold us accountable, which is obviously important to me and my party." Troels said to a local reporter before posing for a photo with a few of his campaigners.
After a few hours of canvasing Troels held a private dinner for some of the local campaigners to thank them for their help. He also made a comment on this to the press earlier in the day:
"I value the job my campaigners are doing, and I appreciate their support for me and their confidence in my ability to best represent their riding. That's why I'm holding a dinner for them to show them that appreciation, which also gives me an opportunity to meet them and thank them in person."
Troels did not give any further comments to the press, citing that he "wished to focus on his constituents" today.
