Tully the Sea Terror Part 3
Post Body

The war for the Iron Isles had begun. Dickon gave a grim look of determination as his longships approached Orkmont. With any luck, they would take the Greyjoys by surprise, and quickly end this war. Landing on the shores of the island, Dickon led his host towards the keep, finding it relatively unguarded, it quickly fell, however, Lord Greyjoy was not that. He had fled to the West and Dickon gave the order for his troops to split. Half would head West, subdue Great Wyk and find Greyjoy, whilst he would head South to Harlaw. Successive victories in Harlaw and Great Wyk brought the Greyjoy loyalists to their knees, and Dickon located Greykoy himself, he had fled back to Orkmont whilst it was unguarded. Leading another force to Orkmont, Dickon once more besieged the walls and the castle fell again, Greyjoy surrendered and Dickon clapped him in irons and marched him back to Pyke.

The Iron Isles were now in the hands of House Tully, but other wars were to come. The Starks had declared a war to sieze the throne from the Targaryens for themselves, The Lannisters had declared war on Dickon's imprisoned cousin, Hosteen Tully, for Kanet and rumours from the North stated a man named Raymond Redbeard was trying to marshall the Wildlings.

As Dickon looked to strengthen his hold on the Iron Islands by executing the Greyjoy remnants, he looked over his dominions and realised. Maybe he didn't need the throne. Maybe he only needed to be the most powerful vassal of the Throne, to make the Targaryens utterly dependent on his loyalty to keep their throne. Maybe he didn't need to be the King, and could be more powerful following the footsteps of Criston Cole, and being a Kingmaker.

Once his forces had recovered enough, with the war against the Starks going well, Dickon landed forces at Lannisport to begin the march North to crush the Starks, when there came a raven. Hosteen Tully had died in the Red Keep's dungeons, making Dickon Lord Paramount of the Riverlands as well as Iron Isles, unfortunately, this also gave him Hosteen's wars...Unfortunately for the Lannisters. Dickon quickly took Lannisport and marched on the Rock, where his force of 30k was met by a 20k Lannister force. Despite home advantage, with Dickon at their head, the Tully forces could not falter and they crushed the Lannister hordes. The Rock withstood the Tully forces for a year, but when it fell, Gerion Lannister surrendered and the war was won. As Dickon celebrated this victory, a raven came from the Wall, Redbeard had attacked and the Wall was calling for aid throughout the land. Dickon sent a reply that his forces would march North with haste to protect the realms of men.

Dickon felt truly happy with his lot in life. He had the Iron Isles, he had the Riverlands and he had the other Lords fearing to see his banners, whether it be on land or sea. His forces marched North to the Neck, when Lord Stark bent the knee to King Maekar. Dickon though the fool would rather bend the knee than face my blade, when another raven arrived from the Wall. Redbeard had captured Castle Black, killed the Lord Commander and ended the Night's Watch. At this, Dickon's gaze hardened. He would march North still, he would meet Reymund Redbeard in battle, he would slay the would be King and restore the Night's Watch to its former glory.
