Overcoming CHS
Post Body

Iā€™m glad to have found this subredit. I feel like I caught CHS right around the time it became a thing. My first episode was in 2005, and back then no one knew what was the cause. I then got sick again a year later. So plenty of money spent on x-rays, cat scans and being given diagnoses for extreme acid reflux, gastritis and other things.

I ended up getting into some legal trouble and was put on drug testing for a 4 years. So I did not smoke and never got sick. Upon my probation ending, I started smoking again and eventually got sick again. This was in 2010 and was the first time a doctor told me it was due to weed. Didnā€™t want to believe it and continued smoking until I landed in the hospital again later that year only to have another doctor tell me the same. But unlike the first doc, this one had stories of personal experiences with patients that sold me on it.

So I quit for a while but eventually fell back into smoking. To make a long story short, I probably have had about 8-10 episodes. More than half that landed me in the hospital.

Iā€™m the type that wants to partake everyday if Iā€™m gonna be smoking. However it seems if you smoke occasionally it would probably be alright. But I donā€™t know for sure.

The last episode I had was a little over a year ago. And I had already been done for about a year and a half but had been given some information that the sickness was linked to weed with pesticides. So I decided I would give it a shot to stick to what was advertised as ā€œpesticide free.ā€ But yea still got sick and really canā€™t verify whether or not pesticide free or nor even mattered. Seems like once you got this shit, you got it.

Aside from having a lot of friends and family that smoke, I also work in the concert business so I am around weed consumption constantly. Iā€™m proud to be where I am at now that I am no longer tempted to smoke. It was definitely a long hard road.

I still get people trying to find solutions for me but I am so over it. Got sick waay too many times and frankly Iā€™d rather be able to eat than smoke weed.

So anyone thats struggling with quitting, I understand. But I am in your corner. I donā€™t wish this shit on anyone!
