Hey, so- NAD. I am rather an engineering student who likes to do research on things. I recently have been wracked by CHS, and i wanted to offer a possible theory that I put together.
My belief is that CHS is the reaction of a higher-PH stomach becoming exposed to more acidic stomach bile.
Iām not going to cite my sources here because i am very lazy (weāre all stoners here), but if you look up any number of these facts, they seem to ring true.
FACT: smoking MJ reduces stomach bile production from the liver. This means less stomach acid, and by association, a higher PH level in your gut. The body doesnāt really feel this change, although your metabolism slows noticeably. If you smoke every day for a long period of time, your body is going to get used to having less acid in it.
FACT: You arenāt usually high the WHOLE NIGHT- only for the first 4 hours. After that, your body gets back to making stomach acid, like normal.
FACT: the human body REALLY doesnāt like having acid in it (when itās stronger than it expects)
you can see where iām going here.
What does this mean? I think it means that the overnight bile buildup causes the extreme morning sickness. If your body is expecting something weaker, then you can also expect acid reflux and tissue damage to the stomach.
That would be why this problem mostly shows up in longtime smokers or chronic penj users- the body lowers how much protective lining it uses because itās normal when thereās less acid.
It also would explain why so many people have nausea when theyāre not high- the liverās back online and already trying to fill you with ānormalā amounts of stomach bile.
Why it shows up in late-stage as this extreme reaction? My guess(!GUESS!) is that those affected used weed to cope with the nausea for so long, that some kind of emergency reaction occurs from the liver when the stomach reaches a point of being non-acidic. Then, immediately afterwards, they quit weed, which causes all of the aforementioned ārecoveryā effects, as the body balances its PH level.
again, this is just my rambling as a non professional. iād love to hear critiques or comments, tho!!
