Buying tickets day of

So a friend of mine is a huge Bengals fan and we haven’t missed a Bears-Bengals game together in quite some time.
We were lazy and didn’t get release day tickets this year, but I’ve heard you can get decent seats at decent prices just showing up in town and getting them an hour or so before the game.
Anyone here have experience with that? Tips maybe? Any advice is helpful. I figure worst case scenario we go into town and find a good bar.
