I'm going to say something *VERY* unpopular, but CMV
Post Body

Do you remember last year? Do you remember a record-setting offense?
Do you remember last year? Do you remember a worst-in-the-NFL defense?

Pepperidge Farm remembers
I remember.

We are the worst in the NFC North, but we haven't played any of the four games against Minnesota or the Lions. Yes, we lost to our biggest rival in a bad way, and that ABSOLUTELY hurts. If we ignore the games won against us, our opponent records (counting GB as 2x 5-3), the opponents we lost to are 28-21-1 (.570), and our only bad loss is to Carolina. We still have to play a squishy NO and a BAD (actually bad, not us bad) TB. We should split the games with the rest of the North, and stand a chance against DAL's running game.

I trust Trestman. He is an amazing coaching talent for QBs, and, however much we may dislike Cutty's recent performance, he has been much more comfortable in the pocket and has been making better decisions. Trestman took a bottom-5 offense, turned it into a top-5 offense last year, and will do so again.

Our defense is better than last year (and it could have been worse, as bad as that sounds) and we can put up a fight. We don't know how the rest of the season is going to go. We have been hurt worse than most with the injury bug this year, and we are depleted in the secondary (which was already thin).

The margins between teams in the NFL are razor-thin. Instability of any kind will doom us to irrelevance not just this year but in the two years to come. Give Trestman a full 3 years (less than you give a President) and let's reevaluate him in the winter of 2015.
