Hello!
So a president of a financial planning firm in the city i live in reached out to me and we have been talking for a few weeks. Currently I work in medical sales and doing really well, it is stable and i consistently hit above quota so I am comfortable but it is clearly not the company for any long term growth and its also not really challenging. Even it being sales it is easily the easiest job ive ever had.
We had a meeting this morning and it turns out he has been feeling out recruiting me so i had an interview without me realizing it was an interview and I got the job haha. The problem is, it seems to good to be true. Currently I am in night school as a computer science major, but they want me to switch majors to a finance/business degree which they would pay completely, via reimbursement(including books), they will pay for all my licensing, and the kicker is they would let me keep my current job while i get my licensing and build up my books. i would also have access to all of their software and resources as well as the president introduced me to the manager of sales which would become my mentor and we hit it off a ton in common and we really like eachother.
I would be a 1099 contractor until i decide i want to jump in full time in which i would then become W2. Now, the reality is i have never even considered this world as a career path and i feel excited and that i want to jump right in however, i did say that i would be emailing him a list of questions for our meeting next week that i need answered before i would commit to anything. So basically that is why i am coming to you guys.
After reading all this what are some questions I should ask before deciding anything, I would be basically completely changing careers on my gut feeling that i would be amazing. Let me know some thoughts and what i should find out! Thank you!
edit: i will share the company name if you want to pm me and offer me more specific advice. until i decide what i am going to do i just dont want to stay as confidential as possible.
