CFB has figured out the best way to pick champions. I think other sports should learn from us, here's how:
Post Body
Some pretty neat scenarios:
- The NFL should abandon the current playoff system and just put the top 4 teams in ESPN's power rankings in the semis. How often is it that the best 2 teams in the country end up in the Super Bowl?
- What if olympics ditched qualifiers and just went with the top 6 swimmers that the judges wanted? How often is it that the best 6 swimmers in the world end up in the final heat, couldn't a committee do better?
- FIFA should ditch the qualification process and just get a committee to pick the 32 teams that they think will make the most entertaining tournament. How often are the world cup teams the best 32 teams in the world? Never. Shouldn't we have a committee fix that?
- Cinderella stories in march madness are stupid because bad teams end up getting to the final four. It would be better if we had a committee look at the overall body of work and pick the final four instead of going off of one-off games.
- It's truly stupid when the western and eastern conferences in the NBA are so lopsided in terms of talent. We should get rid of mathematic seeding in the NBA and just have a committee pick the teams that are healthiest and playing best at the moment to seed the tournament.
Man I'm really glad that CFB has figured out the best system, hopefully literally every other sport in the world can learn from how we do things or else the other sports are literally going to become unwatchable

MLB is a great comparison. It would obviously not happen, but I could see a partnership between a top 32 school with an NFL team, and creating a 32 college team league, with nfl connections and money a slightly different version of mlbs minor league
