Yeah but too bad ucla finally played a road game
We may see if they do.
If Utah and USC win out, we’re getting a USC vs Oregon Pac-12 title game.
It ultimately doesn’t matter if Oregon or Utah wins out.
As long as USC wins out as well, it’s an Oregon vs. USC title game
So I don’t really care but I would prefer Utah to win out so it’s technically a tie.
I think you’re right.
Seems like the intent is to seed one at a time rather than eliminating Utah in step 2.
With the gutting of divisions in the Pac-12, the tiebreaker rule says they'll only use head-to-head result if all teams played each other (Oregon didn't play USC).
So instead, they'll use the common opponent criteria in which would knock out Utah because they lost to ucla (assuming USC beats ucla)
Yeah I would be more upset about this Pac-12 shenanigans but it works out in our favor this time and we're leaving this god-forsaken conference.

ucla would’ve faced a similar result as last night if they played Utah on the road
