I have been studying for a few months, but concentrated the most over the past three weeks. I used Boson and the All in One book, in addition to taking the official ECC online course (to meet the exam requirement for work experience). While all methods had the material needed to pass, it was Boson who provided the most concise process for learning- hence a huge thank you! The exam as others have stated is pretty mixed, covering all sorts of topics. If I had to suggest any one area of learning, I wish I would have learned the tools (command and software) more in depth-- especially the ones that are not as popular as say nmap or wireshark.
