On day 1 of the academy when I went through before becoming CDCR, our patch was “CDC” and we had a Sergeant tell us to look at our patch and he said “it doesn’t say California Dating Center” which is funny and true.

This won’t apply to every female…you have been in the selection process for so long and get to the academy, don’t give into temptation. It’s going to happen and at least one female will end up pregnant or you get through the academy and find out when you get to the prison you are pregnant. You definitely won’t have the time saved up needed to be off work for being pregnant.

Get through the academy and off your apprenticeship before getting pregnant. If you happen to get pregnant in the academy or during the apprenticeship, your apprenticeship is extended until you get the two years to complete it for that big raise.
