Question for lawyers or law enforcement: I heard that prosecutors could find you guilty in a self-defense scenario if you have a modified gun.

Post Body

What I heard was that if you want to modify a CCW, to use only OEM parts, and not performance parts (such as performance triggers) or some cosmetic elements such as a “punisher” engrave on the back plate.

Arguments such as making a weapon for “killing” instead of “self-defense” could be made if a death occurred on a self-defense situation.

I would like to hear particularly from users who have been on a prosecutorial situations, are in law enforcement, or are lawyers themselves preferably.
