Okay, so, I decided something today. I fucking hate my Shield Plus. I hate the way it feels in my hand, I hate the feel of the trigger, and no matter how much I train with it, it just never feels right. I read all of the great reviews, held it for like 5 minutes in the LGS, and said "fuck it, sure, this can be my carry gun, everyone loves these micro 9s and I'll get used to it"
There's nothing wrong with it, it's just never going to be enjoyable for me personally to shoot. I'm a big guy with big hands, the pros of a micro gun don't help me all that much and the cons make them impossible for me to shoot well. I succumbed to peer pressure and I am ashamed.
My M9A4 however, is my absolute favorite handgun to shoot. It feels perfect in my hand, I am old and cranky and prefer a DA/SA trigger, I am also a red dot guy, hence the M9A4 instead of a plain ol' 92.
So, it appears to me that the PX4 Storm was kind of made for me. However, if I want a red dot, I'm looking at like $1,000 minimum for an LTT one (and really, like $1300-$1500, because why on earth would I get an LTT without having them do spruce it up a bit?)
So, is it worth it, PX4 folks? Does the 92's overall feel translate to a polymer frame? How rough is the aftermarket for it? Will my M9A4 become territorial and jealous and attack it when I'm not looking? Assuming money is an object, is spending the money to bring modern features to a PX4 Storm worth it?
Thanks!
