Adding to the pile....We The People
Post Body

A friend recommended I try We The People when I expressed how I needed a new holster after adding my TL1 to my G19. I've always bought Dara holsters but he told me that We The People offered a good product at a decent price. I looked them up and cringed at the blatant "FJB"/MAGA stuff they touted on their website; I'm not a fan of politicizing products that really don't need the extra fluff.

Anyways, I ordered one because they were running a sale. I waited about a week for it, even paid for expedited shipping. I was initially impressed with the packaging and the added dust bag; nice touches. I became less impressed when I opened the sealed plastic and found the holster covered in dust and general filth. I washed it off, dried it, and went to test fit my G19. The holster would flex and "snap" over the light, unlike most holsters that have traditional retention this holster seemed to want to clamshell/seal over whatever it was securing to.

This made getting the gun out of the holster difficult when on a table, and nearly impossible when worn on the body. I did some dry drills and found myself pulling my pants up by my belt when I went to draw my gun. I tried adjusting retention on the screw but this did nothing to help. I took a closer look at the quality of the mold and the "kydex" and immediately noticed a difference in quality. The WTP holster flexed and bent at the slightest squeeze, whereas my Dara and Bravo concealment holsters stayed rigid. Furthermore, the "kydex" on the WTP was ~75% as thick as the Dara's kydex, and visually I can tell whatever "kydex" they used on the WTP was not nearly the same quality as comparable holsters.

I immediately reached out to WTP and plainly said that I wasn't satisfied with the holster and wanted a return label to send it back. They told me that they do not refund for shipping and that I was responsible for getting it returned. I explained in my email that the holster was defective for the reasons above, and that the quality of the holster was lacking. I sent them photos that they requested, showing that the holster was unevenly molded and flexed over the light instead of providing actual retention.

They did not care, and doubled down that these were not defects but that I was merely not happy with the product.

We The People: Your "satisfaction guaranteed" promise is a bunch of nonsense. Take some ownership of the fact that your quality control needs work.

EDIT: Just went through their return form and they have the balls to charge a $4 "handling fee" for returns. Wow.
