Baked a cake?

Just wondering if anyone has ever baked a cake with cbd flower? Would you still get the benefits from it? I have a flare up of Costochondritis and smoking really kills my chest so would like to try an alternative considering I have 1/2 oz of flower sitting here.
Edit: That would be a Victoria sponge cake if that matters haha. My missus uses THC flower in a cake for herself as she doesn’t like smoking. I cant use THC as I get tested at work so I use CBD flower intermittently
