Flying with CBD - Vapes and Flower

Google doesn't give solid answers and I'd also like to hear folx actual experience with flying with CBD
I've started using CBD regularly and I travel for work around once a month and a few of these trips involve flying. I have a few questions about this
- CBD is federally legal, so does that mean I can bring it to/through and use in states where cannabis is not legal?
- Can I only travel with unopened jars/packages of CBD flower? Would my vape carts need to be in the original packaging?
- How do y'all store your vape pens? Do they have to be in a checked bag or can they be in a carry on?
- Do I need to tell TSA I have CBD products on me?
