So im looking to buy an extra CCW for my rotation that will replace my gen 1 shield. I like my shield but don't like the safety that is hard to access and the fact that it has a magazine disconnect. I personally believe if I accidentally drop my mag in a high adrenaline situation at least I can get 1 shot off rather than none (better than a sharp stick) although it is highly unlikely I've seen people and police officer videos where this happens and a chance is a chance. I was thinking about the springfield EMP as it's similarly sized just a bit heavier, which I don't mind, but would like input if there are other on roster guns recommend in the same size category. Also, is my reasoning valid? Do you thing a magazine disconnect is that big of a safety concern?

PS: I already own a glock 26 and a CZ p01, but would like an alternate to my glock.
