Was messaging with a guy on Instagram who one of my friends was friends with before he moved out of state, guy was selling a near mint condition M1 garand with 20 clips that belonged to his grandfather, crazy part is he was selling it for only 850. I had already verified he was legit, picked out an FFL, got what felt like a million pictures taken to ensure it was in good quality (didn’t have any issues besides a small scratch maybe a half inch long on the left side of the furniture) and when it came time to send him my FFL address and he saw it was in riverside he literally just responded with “I’m not gonna sell my grandpas gun to some pussy in commiefornia” I thought it was a joke at first, I even responded with laughing emojis, because why would he suddenly get protective over his grandpas gun that he’s selling for probably beer money. But he stopped responding, so I keep texting over and over trying to get the gun because of course it’s such an insane deal and after like 2 days he just responds that he sold it to someone else and that I should get out of CA.
