Good morning all, my ccw application was recently denied by my IA. They stated I failed to mention a prior arrest, when I was 15, that I had forgotten about. I did the community service that was required and it was expunged off my criminal record. I’m 36 now, so it’s been 21 years since it’s I was arrested. When the person who ran my background called me they did indeed confirm it is off my criminal record but wasn’t off the IA record since I still live in the city I was in when it happened. They gave me a an option to appeal the denial, do you guys think it’s worth trying to appeal? Would I need to hire an attorney or something or fight it myself?
Thanks guys!
Edit 4/20/24 8:25pm
I filed for the appeal today (sat 4/20 @ 4:45ish) Now the courts will set a hearing date within 60 days of receiving the appeal
For those who have appealed theirs before? Do I need a lawyer or something?
