Hello friends.
My grandfather was an avid gun collector, and prob has about 20-25 guns in his 3 safes in Los Angeles. Most of them I know he prob got before 2000, but I can’t be exactly sure, his dementia is getting very bad and me and my father are gonna go through and try to catalogue everything.
What I’m curious about, what is the legality if I inherit some of the guns? I’m not aware on the registration my grandfather has to many of them or what year many of the guns are or if they are even CA compliant. His collection is primarily handguns and break loading shotguns, but I believe he has a M1 Garand from whenever.
What are some advice for when me and my dad start going through (besides making sure the old bastard doesn’t keep any of them loaded lol) and if he wanted to give me any, what would the legal complications be? Thank you.
