Fixed, older male cat has started peeing
Post Body

I have a tabby that's probably 6-8. We got him as an adult from a shelter. He has never had any issues with marking or peeing until 3 months ago. Now he's done it 4 times. It seems to be on things with complex scents but some are really old. It was on a pair of cutoffs I had taken camping and they were rank but my smell. Then he's peed on a box of old clothes at my dad's and a box of newspapers. The last two maaaay have very old mice droppings in them. I don't know what to do. I'm in a rental (why he's temporarily at my dads). I'm wondering if it's old age. Nothing else seems to be wrong or different.
