I came to state service from the private sector about two months ago. When I applied I just barely didn’t qualify for the AGPA so I applied for the position below it. As y’all know the hiring process took forever and I meet the qualifications now. I see AGPA positions advertised all the time. I’m not new to this type of work since I did private sector consulting in this field.
I noticed some people in my office have moved around after less than a year while others have been in the same position for years. Would it be weird to apply for an AGPA position in a few months after only working 6(ish) months in this role? Should I wait until I at least pass probation or should I just go for it?
