I know it wont be strictly 'buy it for life' but I'm looking for recommendations of an A/C unit (or two) that can cool a small house to comfortable levels without either crapping out after a short while, or running up the electricity bill unnecessarily high.
So what hardy, effective, and energy efficient window units are out there?
